Buried In Teeth

These Steven Meisel photos from 2003 absolutely astound me.  They are everything I look for in an editorial – decadent styling with a heavy coat of surrealism.  Found here.

Usually I try to edit these posts down, but I am so in love with this shoot that I can’t stand the thought of excluding even one.  Sorry about the resulting loading complications!

Hope everyone’s weekend is off to a great start!  I have to finish online health from BYU, which includes such profound learning devices as this poem (with an inexcusably inconsistent narrative) about anorexia:

101, 102
Oh no, my gosh, what did I do?
You cheated dear self, don’t you remember what you ate?
A cracker today and a crumb of pound cake.
She promised, she vowed, not to do it again,
Just water tomorrow and maybe a wheat thin.
A rumble in her tummy, a rib starting to show,
It’s not over yet, ten pounds more to go.

It’s small comedic blessings like this that make academic pursuit worthwhile.
